Jarek is a licensed professional engineer specializing in structural engineering. He works at Advanced Engineering Division of ABS Consulting, where he manages engineering design and risk assessments of buildings and facilities exposed to natural and man-made hazards such as earthquakes, hurricanes, floods and explosions.
Jarek is graduate of Warsaw University of Technology (Poland) with M.Sc. Degree in Civil Engineering. Jarek was born and grew up in Warsaw, Poland. He lives in St. Louis since 1985. He and his wife Izabela live in West Saint Louis County. His favorite pastime is bike riding, recreational swimming, music and architecture of St. Louis.
Basia H. Najarro is the Business Director in the Division of Medical Education, Department of Internal Medicine at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. Basia oversees a three year internal medicine residency training program consisting of approximately 160 house staff, twenty faculty members, 5 chief residents and 8 administrative staff with an annual applicant pool of 2100 medical students.
Basia received her undergraduate degree with honors from the University of Missouri-St. Louis in Organizational Behavior and minor in Marketing. She completed her MBA at Webster University with emphasis in Business Administration & Marketing. Her passion is international business focused on healthcare and education.
In addition to her professional responsibilities, Basia is very involved in her community. She translates in Polish at area St. Louis hospitals in conjunction with “Dar Serca” , an organization that assists children with disabilities to receive medical treatment that is not attainable in their home countries. She is also a proud mother of two daughters, Ellie and Maria, who provide her the energy and drive to keep working hard and stay outside her comfort zone. When time permits, Basia loves to read, travel, watch CNN, dance, cook and spend time with friends and family. Basia was born and raised in St. Louis, she is resident of Warson Woods.
Ewa works as a Business Administrator at the medical practice P.T.Dyk Nephrology,Inc. She is also involved in local philanthropic and educational initiatives. Ewa has served as a St. Louis representative for Gift from the Heart Foundation/Dar Serca Foundation. Ewa grew up in Gdańsk (Poland). Prior to immigrating to the United States in 1984, Ewa worked as Personal Assistant to Lech Walesa – then Solidarity leader who became later President of Poland. Ewa holds MA Degree in Special Education and Clinical Psychology from University of Gdansk Poland. She is an avid reader, traveler, and very loyal fan of National Public Radio. Ewa’s favorite past time includes skiing and ballroom dancing, but above all spending as much time as possible with her family and close friends, both in St. Louis as well as in Poland. Eva is resident of University City.
