Nana

We wanted to bring your attention to a feature documentary film entitled ‘NANA’ that will be making its world premiere on November 6th at 12:30pm at the St. Louis International Film Festival (Plaza Frontenac Cinema)

The film was partially shot in Poland (Warsaw, Krakow, Bedzin) last year, and is about a Bedzin-born Holocaust survivor.

NANA is a transgenerational documentary on the filmmaker’s grandmother, Maryla Michalowski-Dyamant, a Polish Auschwitz survivor and advocate for tolerance. Throughout the film, mother and daughter attempt to come to terms with Maryla’s past, – who was notably Dr. Mengele’s translator -, while trying to find a way to keep the crucial message of tolerance alive for the new generations, now that most survivors are gone.

Please find our press release attached for more information.

Producer/subject Alice Michalowski, cinematographers Nick Walker and Julia Elaine Mills, and myself will be present.

We would be honored to have members of the consulate attend the screening. Please let us know if you need tickets, and we will be happy to provide them for you.
